A). Republicans wanted to cut spending and avoid raising taxes, while Democrats sought a combination of spending cuts and tax increases. The agreement currently on the table raises tax rates to 39.6% from 35% on individual with income of more than $400,000 and on couples with incomes of more htan $450,000. It also lets the 2% payroll tax cut expire and delays spending cuts for another two months. The likely outcome of these changes is that economic growth will be pressured modestly, but the country will not face the severe economic downturn it would have if all of the laws related to the fiscal cliff had gone into effect. This brought out many problems to both the Democratic and Republican side to argue about many things.
B). I used Google and typed my results as "Fiscal Cliff response between both Republican and Democratic side positions" and narrowed it from there. I tried my best to get the most accurate results and the results that were most up-to-date. Nothing more than 1 year old. Because, if it was old, then it would not be the same as what I am thinking or wanting to search about. The most helpful things was looking at the text, reading it and asking myself it this made sense to me. Because, if it doesnt make sense to me, then obviously it will not make sense to other people trying to read it. I tried to avoid things like Yahoo! Answers or even Wikipidea because anyone who owns a computer and has internet can write anything false about this subject that they are talking about. It is all common sense when reading someting and making sure you avoid false advertisement. Because if I copy something wrong and learn from it, then I will always learn that the subject I just read is wrong and not know anything in the future and have the wrong idea in my head.

Good, although your explanation of the content is not your writing synthesizing this info, but a direct quote. That'll be OK for this assignment, but plagiarism generally so be careful. Also, what tools did you use to "narrow it from there"?
